Precision machined block (+/- 0.001-inch) that needs no
additional blueprinting to correct production tolerances.
Extra-thick siamesed cylinder walls provide 0.275-inch
minimum wall thickness with 4.125-inch bores. Shipped
with 3.986-inch bores, but can be bored to 4.155-inch.
Standard deck height is 9.025 inches with 0.625-inch minimum
deck thickness. Blind-tapped head bolt holes. Steel
four-bolt main caps and two-piece rear main bearing seal.
Raised camshaft (0.390-inch) will clear a 4.125-inch stroke
crankshaft. Big-block cam bearings are used. Revised
lubrication system with priority main oiling. Spread oil
pan rails will clear up to a 4.125-inch stroke crankshaft in
tall deck blocks with minor modifications. Block has dual
starter mounts, bosses for side and front engine mounts,
and provisions for a mechanical fuel pump.
