Weighs just 106 pounds! Aluminum bare block cast from
prime ingot A-356 aluminum and heat-treated to T6
specs. Increased wall thickness for greater stress capabilities
with semi-finished cylinder sleeves at 3.986-inches
that can be finish bored up to 4.150-inches. Main bearing
diameter is 2.45-inches (350 size) and its rigid deck surfaces
are 0.620-inch thick. Blind-tapped head bolt holes
improve head gasket sealing. The 8620 steel four-bolt
main bearing caps will clear standard oil pans. Rear main
bearing is pre-1986, two-piece design. Block is designed
for wet sump, but can be converted to dry sump oiling by
plugging oil pump hole in rear main bearing cap.
