History has proven time and again that the 454 big-block
is the once and future king of the muscle car realm!
GMPP’s 454 HO crate engine is a living legacy that combines
performance, dependability and value that almost any
enthusiast can enjoy.
Starting with a brand-new, Gen VI four-bolt big block,
the 454 HO is fitted with a forged steel crank, forged
connecting rods and forged pistons. A roller camshaft with
.510/.540-inch lift specs generates a muscle car-appropriate
lump in the idle, while economical cast iron cylinder heads
deliver a pump-gas-friendly 8.75:1 compression ratio.
Horsepower is rated at 425 and torque is a satisfyingly
strong 500 lb.-ft.
The 454 HO is delivered to you complete with water
pump, balancer, intake manifold and 14-inch automatic
transmission flexplate. Add your carburetor, ignition
and starter to complete the engine. You’ll want to check
out GMPP’s line of valve covers and chrome accessories
to give the engine a more muscle car-appropriate
underhood flash.
We’ll supply the 454 engine. You supply the red 1970
Chevelle!
